It might be 100 degrees outside but summer is over for my little Rj.
1st day of Kindergarten was on Tuesday and my little man was ready. I was so proud of him. He told me the night before how nervous he was. But, this is the day he's been waiting for. To go to the big school we drive past everyday to go to his preschool. With his Star Wars backpack and breakfast snack in his racecar lunchbox in tow. My little man was ready. With no tears, shoulders back and head held high my Rj walked off.
Three and a half hours later, Rj was sitting waiting for me in the cafeteria. Exactly where he was supposed to be. A big smile on his face, he's excited to see me. Tells me what a great day he's had, waves bye to his teacher, "Bye Mrs. Tanaka! See you tomorrow!". I knew right there. My Rj was officially in elementary school, a kindergartner.
